The Karolinska Center for Transgene Technologies (KCTT) is the transgenic core facility at Karolinska Institutet. KCTT is a non-commercial, non-profit organisation and one of the largest academic transgenic core facilities in Scandinavia. KCTT is physically located at two sites, the Karolinska Campus North (Solna) and CampusSouth (Huddinge).
The main activities at KCTT concern the generation and storage of genetically modified mice and related techniques.
KCTT is linked to the Cryobank unit and Import Portal for export and import of mice to and from Karolinska Institutet. The Cryobank unit hosts the Scandinavian node for the EMMA consortium under the control of Professor Urban Lendahl.
KCTT provides services primarily for research groups at Karolinska Institutet but also for external research groups at other academic institutions and companies if capacity allows.
